Book Trailer Thursday! (#4)

Book Trailer Thursday!

Book Trailer Thursday is a weekly meme hosted at Libby Blog that features book trailers of books that are either just out in stores or are coming soon.

Slide by Jill Hathaway

Release Date:
It's out! GO GET IT!

Publisher:
Blazer/ Bray + Harper Collins
Summary/Synopsis:

Vee Bell is certain of one irrefutable truth—her sister's friend, Sophie, didn't kill herself. She was murdered. Vee knows this because she was there. Everyone believes Vee is narcoleptic, but she doesn't actually fall asleep during these episodes: When she passes out, she slides into somebody else's mind and experiences the world through that person's eyes. She's slid into her sister as she cheated on a math test, into a teacher sneaking a drink before class. She learned the worst about a supposed "friend" when she slid into her during a school dance. But nothing could have prepared Vee for what happens one October night when she slides into the mind of someone holding a bloody knife, standing over Sophie's slashed body. Vee desperately wishes she could share her secret, but who would believe her? It sounds so crazy that she can't bring herself to tell her best friend, Rollins, let alone the police. Even if she could confide in Rollins, he has been acting distant lately, especially now that she's been spending more time with Zane. Enmeshed in a terrifying web of secrets, lies, and danger and with no one to turn to, Vee must find a way to unmask the killer before he or she strikes again.

Trailer:
Yo, Hollywood! Great story line just in one short book trailer! :)

Review: Tempest by Julie Cross

Author:
Julie Cross

Grade:

Does It Have A Trailer?
Yup! Here! I have to say it's pretty awesome. :)

Cover:
Jackson skydiving to be with Holly. This cover is perfect with the story. :)

Summary/Synopsis:
The year is 2009. Nineteen-year-old Jackson Meyer is a normal guy… he’s in college, has a girlfriend… and he can travel back through time. But it’s not like the movies – nothing changes in the present after his jumps, there’s no space-time continuum issues or broken flux capacitors – it’s just harmless fun.
That is… until the day strangers burst in on Jackson and his girlfriend, Holly, and during a struggle with Jackson, Holly is fatally shot. In his panic, Jackson jumps back two years to 2007, but this is not like his previous time jumps. Now he’s stuck in 2007 and can’t get back to the future.
Desperate to somehow return to 2009 to save Holly but unable to return to his rightful year, Jackson settles into 2007 and learns what he can about his abilities.
But it’s not long before the people who shot Holly in 2009 come looking for Jackson in the past, and these “Enemies of Time” will stop at nothing to recruit this powerful young time-traveler. Recruit… or kill him.Piecing together the clues about his father, the Enemies of Time, and himself, Jackson must decide how far he’s willing to go to save Holly… and possibly the entire world.

My Thoughts:
I have to say this novel. Oh, this novel was . . .a true love story with a hint of magic.

I have to say, one of the reasons I really loved this book is because it was told from a male's POV (point of view). It was good to get a break from a girl's POV and go into the mind of a guy, don't you think? Besides that, I really loved this because it was real and, yet, it wasn't.

Time traveling. C'mon. It can't get any better than that, right? WRONG! I had the chance to get inside's a guy's mind when their in love. I can't get over the fact how much Jackson grew from the beginning of the novel up until the end and the reason for such growth? Love. His love for Holly. There wasn't a moment that I didn't want to slap/hug/kick/kiss, Jackson for what he did to Holly. He would do the things I wasn't expecting and I could not believe how Jackson left us in Tempest. He did the most hugest thing for his one true love and that, my friends. Is what made me give this novel an A!

Full of nonstop action, suspense, and romance, this novel is sure to move readers as much as it thrills.

The trailer tells you so much yet so little! The epicness (Is that a word? Oh well, it is now.) of the trailer DOES NOT even come close to the epicness of this novel. Watch the trailer, and go get your own copy. Enough said. :D

Back to what I won . . .I won Swag Pack #1 and when I saw it on my dining table I kind of, maybe, screamed a little. Okay, so I maybe I did let out a huge fan girl scream.

Can you see it? I think you can! I had just finished reading The Way We Fall by Megan Crewe and take a look at the picture. At the top, right corner. See the The Way We Fall bookmark? It's signed!! Megan Crewe is a new favorite author of mine so it was so great to receive that bookmark!

So, you know how I said I finished reading The Way We Fall? Well, I won that May's blog . . Fire Star Books! I won a eBook copy of my choice and I was just seeing so many reviews on TWWF that I decided on that. :)

Grade:
A+!

Does It Have A Trailer?
Yes! It's here!
I have to say when I first watched it
I thought it was a movie trailer. *hides*

Cover:
I like the cover. It's plain, simple, and just goes right along with the book.

Summary/Synopsis:

It starts with an itch you just can't shake. Then comes a fever and a tickle in your throat. A few days later, you'll be blabbing your secrets and chatting with strangers like they’re old friends. Three more, and the paranoid hallucinations kick in. And then you're dead. When a deadly virus begins to sweep through sixteen-year-old Kaelyn’s community, the government quarantines her island—no one can leave, and no one can come back. Those still healthy must fight for dwindling supplies, or lose all chance of survival. As everything familiar comes crashing down, Kaelyn joins forces with a former rival and discovers a new love in the midst of heartbreak. When the virus starts to rob her of friends and family, she clings to the belief that there must be a way to save the people she holds dearest. Because how will she go on if there isn't? Megan Crewe crafts a powerful and gripping exploration of  self-preservation, first love, and hope. Poignant and dizzying, this heart-wrenching story of one girl’s bravery and unbeatable spirit will leave readers fervently awaiting the next book in this standout new series.

My Opinion:
I have to say this novel was breath-taking. The entire book are based on journal entries of Kaelyn to Leo. Kae and Leo had a fight and it's the entire reason why Kaelyn started writing in her journal. Even though Leo was far away she used the journal to "talk" to him so that she would be prepared for when she really talked to Leo.

The thing is that I felt as if I was Leo. The entire epidemic wasn't what made me cry, or feel sorry for anyone. It was Kae and her evolution throughout the epidemic. She was this person, a person who thought she needed to be someone else, and in the end. She found herself . . . not Leo, Gav, Tessa, but Kaelyn. The real Kaelyn.

It's just I didn't feel this was a novel . . .not at all. I just can't over the fact how much I felt that the virus was real. I had this small scratch on my arm and I completely flipped. I was thinking "It's just the book." and to be honest? It wasn't. This is one novel where the main character's world was real to me and for that . . .
I give Megan Crewe a SOLID A+!

Cover Analysis (#3)

Cover Analysis

Now, I don't know about you but I completely flipped when Fiona Paul told me Vemon's, her debut novel, cover came out! I posted it earlier and well, a cover like this can't go without any analyzing, right?

Cassandra Caravello is one of Renaissance Venice’s lucky elite: with elegant gowns, sparkling jewels, access to the best balls, her own lady’s maid, and a wealthy fiancé, she has everything a girl could desire. Yet ever since her parents’ death, Cassandra has felt trapped, alone in a city of water, where the dark and labyrinthine canals whisper of escape.

But when Cass stumbles upon a murdered woman—practically in her own backyard—she’s drawn into a dangerous world of secret societies, courtesans, and killers. Soon, she finds herself falling for Falco, a mysterious artist with a mischievous grin. . .and a spectacular skill for trouble. Can Cassandra find the murderer, before he finds her? And will she stay true to her fiancé, or succumb to her uncontrollable feelings for Falco?

Beauty, love, romance, and mystery weave together in a stunning novel that’s as seductive and surprising as the city of Venice itself.

The Picture
I have to admit Cassandra is gorgeous. Her makeup, her eyes!, and jewels. I see that smoke, or maybe mist, behind her and it gives another, I don't know, taunting feeling to Cassandra's character (or plot) but do you guys see her smile/smirk? Along the half black-half violet mask? I think Cass might be up to something . . . something seductive? (mwahahahahahaha!)

The Font
The font is . . beautiful. I am such a sucker for cursive titles. The "V" looks completely gorgeous.

The Designs
Okay, is it just me or what? I have managed NOT to see any designs on this cover. Or the previous one I analyzed.

In Conclusion,
I have and do look forward to reading this novel! It's a novel that will be in my hands the day it comes out. :) I have no doubt that Fiona Paul will have any problems with sales especially with a synopsis like that and definitively with a cover like this!

Waiting on Wednesday!

Starters by Lissa Price!

Release Date:
March 13, 2012!

Publisher:
Delacorte Books for Young Readers

Summary/Synopsis:
HER WORLD IS CHANGED FOREVER
Callie lost her parents when the Spore Wars wiped out everyone between the ages of twenty and sixty. She and her little brother, Tyler, go on the run, living as squatters with their friend Michael and fighting off renegades who would kill them for a cookie. Callie's only hope is Prime Destinations, a disturbing place in Beverly Hills run by a mysterious figure known as the Old Man.
He hires teens to rent their bodies to Enders—seniors who want to be young again. Callie, desperate for the money that will keep her, Tyler, and Michael alive, agrees to be a donor. But the neurochip they place in Callie's head malfunctions and she wakes up in the life of her renter, living in her mansion, driving her cars, and going out with a senator's grandson. It feels almost like a fairy tale, until Callie discovers that her renter intends to do more than party—and that Prime Destinations' plans are more evil than Callie could ever have imagined. . . .

Why The Anticipation?
So, why the anticipation, Monica? Good question!

Lissa Price is an upcoming author. Starters is her debut novel and, well, with a synopsis like that do you really expect me to say I'm not highly intrigued?

Yeah, I thought so! Lissa Price is actually going on tour for her debut novel and she's coming to NJ! That means I get to meet her! YAY! She will be the first author I'll meet and, plus, I have no doubts this novel with be a fail. In fact, I think I will be the next Hunger Games! If you want to check her Tour schedule to see if she's coming to a town near you. . . just visit here!

Cover Analysis (#2)

This week, I had my cover chosen and everything but, then, Ally Condie went ahead and revealed this . . .

The cover for the 3rd book in the MATCHED series, REACHED!

Unfortunately, this is no summary/synopsis for REACHED yet. Boo.

The Picture
In MATCHED the girl AKA Cassia was trapped in the glass ball then in CROSSED Cassia was trying to break free, and now in REACHED it shows that Cassia is FREE! I really love how the covers go along with the evolution of character as well with the story. Cassia looks dashing in the red gown, her hair is perfect, and it looks like we have something forward to.

The Font
I absolutely love the Title font. . . go look at the E! Go now! I just love how all the Titles look like on the cover. They have one letter than stands out and oh, I like how "Ally Condie" looks like it has been smeared on the page. It reminds me of the movie titles of Twilight.

The Designs
There isn't any but with a cover like that? It doesn't need any. :)

In Conclusion,
This Cover is just . . .breath-taking. It comes to the UK November 1st! And to the US November 13th! :D I need to read CROSSED, I didn't really like or dislike MATCHED, but I will get this book no matter what because I need to have a cover like that on my book shelf.
