Happy New Year! I'm a bit late, aren't I? But hey, I have news!
I'm back! And this time ..it's to stay! I've got posts scheduled for two weeks and I'm working on a schedule for some blogger interviews. It's amazing! Wow. So many exclamation points but this is the perfect occasion for them. I apologize for my lack of being here but I've finally gotten myself together and organized. I can't wait to get back into this and have the satisfaction of being consistent.
So without further ado, let's get to BUSINESS.
What I Got is a weekly meme hosted here at Cover Analysis by me to show off our brag-worthy books and other brag-worthy things that we got during the week! :D
I've gotten so many things these past couple of days, er, weeks ...
From the library,
Black City by Elizabeth Richards
I read it and honestly, I can understand why everyone loves this one so much! Great characters, straight-to-the-point plot and twists. Friendship and secrets revealed. Just simply amazing!

Tiger's Quest by Colleen Houck
I read Tiger's Curse and it was really really good but never got around to the sequel and I just want to slap myself for not doing it sooner but that ending? It just left me wanting to pull my hair out. Not in the good way either.

Carnival of Souls by Melissa Marr
Started this one now ..can't say much since I'm on the prologue, lol.

Mystic City by Theo Lawrence
Ugh. Don't get me started. Just don't. This is the first book I gave one star. My expectations were so high and Theo Lawrence left them in the water.

Delirium by Lauren Oliver
I know what you're thinking "MONICA. WHY HAVE YOU NOT READ THIS ALREADY?" Dude. There are lots of books I haven't read yet. As Frank Zappa has said "So many books, so little time."

Across The Universe by Beth Revis
Another "MONICA. WHY YOU NO READ THIS SOONER?" Beth Revis is awesome on Twitter. About time I read her books!

Seraphina by Rachel Hartman
I honestly got this because it's been on my wishlist for a long time and Juli @ The Reviews News wrote a stellar review for it (the review was good, not her rating) and I just had to check it out. Have I mentioned how much I love her reviews?

City of Glass by Cassandra Clare
To be honest, I didn't enjoy it that much. It was one of those books where I knew everything that was going to happen. Tumblr and Twitter have exposed me to the truth but mostly, I just wanted to get it over with. Everything wrapped up nicely and I don't want to tackle another TMI book. Although.... Sebastian? Stay the heck away from me!
Bought,
Since Christmas was here and I had awesome grades I may have begged my parents until they took me to Barnes & Noble gotten some books. ;D

The Friday Society by Adrienne Kress
Look at the cover. That is all.

Scorch by Gina Damico
I got this thinking it was the first book and I was wrong. So have to hold off this for a while! Or until I get Croak ....

The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan
Awesome cover but sadly, I can't same the same for the book. I loved it, sure but Percy was annoying me. Like seriously and I expected so much more of a battle. I just don't know but it was good way to end the series. :) BUT WHAT'S THIS? "Seven half-bloods shall answer the call" Oh Percy, it isn't over yet.

The William Shakespeare: Complete Plays by William Shakespeare
I saw this at Barnes & Noble and it was only, I believe, $6 and I wanted to give Will a shot.
Gifted,
Jessica @ Just A Book Lover was my Secret Santa during Christmas and she is awesome. She is nice and completely sweet. You want to know what she got me?

Signed copy of Of Poseidon by Anna Banks! Well technically I saw that she said on Twitter that she had an extra copy and practically begged for it asked if she would be willing to trade for it. In the end, she just gave it to me! Gosh. I just love her so much.

And as the actual Secret Santa gift she got me a signed copy of Half-Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout! I haven't read any JLA book but Jessica she loves her (and Daimon) with a passion.
Last but not least, Rachel @ Beauty and the Bookshelf gifted me ...

Nobody But Us by Kristen Halbrook
She saw my wishlist to my Secret Santa and turns out, she had an extra copy! So *flails* She's awesome as well.
THANK YOU SO MUCH, GUYS!! <3 <3 <3
Phew, that's What I Got these past couple of weeks. What did you get?

Glad to see you're back, girl! You've got plenty of pretties to read, I see. And don't you do your research before you go out and buy books?? I hope you enjoy reading all of them new pretties :D
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Millie @ Millie D's Words
Haha nope. Well I do sometimes but c'mon ..I'm an impulsive buyer. If I go into a store with the things in mind, I get those and others too . . .
DeleteYAY, you;re back. (: And Delirium and Across the Universe are two of my favorite dystopian books, so I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it! And NOBODY BUT US. I cannot wait to hear your thoughts on that one especially. (:
ReplyDeleteMy StS
HELL YEAH I AM. Nobody But Us ..it just sounds so good. :) <3 <3 <3 I hope I love Across the Universe and Delirium too!
Delete*blushes* Oh golly, Mon. Thank you. >.< I'm so very glad you like my reviews! :) (I have a new one up... *COUGH COUGH* /ends stupidly blatant self-advertisement.) Anyways, I hope you l-o-v-e SERAPHINA! Pretty sure my rating for it was better than my review, but thank you. ;)
ReplyDeleteAND AHHH ACROSS THE UNIVERSE DELIRIUM and also when you finish reading the latest installment of Heroes of Olympus I expect lots of fangirling feels. Even if you already know what happens. Because THE FEELS are inescapable. ;)
<3 That is all.
