Why?
Yes, Why? Why do I do Cover Analysis? No, I'm not talking about my blog. I'm talking about my weekly meme. Well, there's a reason to everything.
First of all,
What is Cover Analysis (weekly meme)?
It's where I literally analyze a cover. I pick a cover that I feel needs some serious praise. I do Cover Analysis to boost cover love not to downgrade it so you'll NEVER find me picking a cover I absolutely hate. I am open to suggestions.
When does Cover Analysis happen?
Every Saturday but I'm thinking I may have to make it a regular thing for each new cover reveal. :)
What's the format of Cover Analysis?
I break cover my analyzation through three things.
1) The picture.
Not the font, or the designs, but the actually picture.
2)The font.
I am a sucker for fonts! I love Comic Sans, you should try it sometime!
3)The designs.
You know how sometimes an author has swirly lines around the their name or book title? That's what I'm talking about.
The purpose of Cover Analysis (weekly meme)?
I do Cover Analysis because, first of all, it's a pretty cool idea but most importantly. I do it because cover designers, illustrators, etc don't get enough credit. When you see a cover you mostly think about the main character or author, right? Well, I don't believe that's what should go through your mind. I want you guys to known who designed the cover.
I know that on book jackets the publishers give the designers credit but they give credit in such a tiny font. The one behind the book's cover should have their name just as huge as the author's. So, I hope next time you look at a cover and love, hate, like it. Please, take a look at who designed it.
